Your Gabala day trip from Baku starts with pickup from your hotel or any preferred location in the morning.

📍 Shamakhi Juma Mosque

Start your Gabala journey with a stop at the historic Shamakhi Juma Mosque, the oldest mosque in the Caucasus, built in 743. With its monumental architecture and spiritual heritage, it offers a unique glimpse into Azerbaijan’s Islamic past. This mosque is a symbolic site on the way to Gabala, making it a meaningful and cultural beginning to your adventure.

📍 Nohur Lake

The next stop of your Gabala sightseeing tour is Lake Nohur, located just outside Gabala city and surrounded by breathtaking mountains and dense forests. The lake is known for its mirror-like surface and serene atmosphere. During the visit, you can enjoy activities like horse riding and a peaceful boat trip. Gabala sightseeing wouldn’t be complete without this natural wonder.

📍 Yeddi Gozel Waterfall

Next on your Gabala excursion is the legendary Yeddi Gözəl Waterfall ("Seven Beauties"), one of Azerbaijan’s most visited natural attractions. Located in the village of Vandam, the waterfall flows in seven cascades down a steep mountainside. Be prepared for a scenic but slightly challenging climb — the higher you go, the more stunning the view becomes.

📍 Tufandag Mountain Resort

A modern cable car system with panoramic views

Historical Background of Gabala

Gabala lies in the heart of the Shaki-Zagatala region and borders Dagestan and Georgia. It is one of the oldest cities in Azerbaijan, with ruins of an ancient city over 2,000 years old. The area is also famous for its vast chestnut and nut forests, many of which are over 500 years old. In spring, the blooming chestnut trees create a truly picturesque landscape.

The guide was incredibly friendly and informative, and our driver was helpful. They were punctual, and everything was well-organized from start to finish. Gabala is absolutely worth the three-hour drive—especially with such a professional team. Big thanks

The cleanliness of the air made me feel light-headed. The nature, with its tree-lined road reminded me of fairy tales. GuidedAzerbaijan's service, just like our first reservation, was very professional.

Best, fairest, friendliest tour service team.

Excellent tour organization: Guide, vehicle, route, spots, services .. All Excellent. We were 5 adults + 2 kids. Elshan came 9:20 am to hotel reception & escorted us to the car: A Mercedes Sprinter with 2 extra rows of seats & a table. He started information right outside the hotel, all the way till we were dropped off back to the hotel around 10 pm. Elshan is very committed to his role, doing it proactively, engaging with all of us (all the time), not simply reading a script. He even stopped (before the drop-off) at a grocery to help us stuff our apt, despite being late on schedule! When we requested a 2nd tour (2 days later) we insisted on having Elshan as our guide. This tour was planned specifically for us, by Elshan, to make the most of our short visit to Baku. It even included a sea-side lunch of a variety of fresh Caspian sea catches. The prices are well calculated to be FAIR, affordable and well spent. Fuad, the manager, is more a friend than a businessman! He follows up with you instantly & tries his best to accommodate all your needs. We can't thank him enough for his efforts and help. BuHadi August 4, 2018
